During the three-day STCW Medical Care, the skills of the STCW Medical First Aid training are further deepened and supplemented with extra skills. In addition to providing first aid, it is also important to be able to provide more comprehensive medical care when a victim cannot be evacuated in the short term.
The person responsible for medical care on board is required to be in possession of a valid STCW Medical Care certificate: STCW prescription section A-VI / 4, Table A-VI / 4-2, chapter VI

The following is covered in accordance with the STCW table AV / 4-2:
To participate in this training you must have a valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate (<5 years old) or a certificate of a previously followed training(s) Shipping Health Care (B/O) or comparable certificate.
If you do not yet have a valid STCW Medical First Aid certificate, you can also register for the combination course Combi STCW Medical First Aid & Medical Care.
After successful completion of this training you will receive an official (ILenT / Shipping approved) STCW Medical Care certificate. This certificate is valid for 5 years and complies with the STCW’78 guidelines including 2010 Manila amendments.
