GWO Enhanced First Aid – Want to learn more advanced medical care?

The Enhanced First Aid training offers participants in-depth information and skills about providing first aid.

You will learn more about the anatomy of the human body, how to contact the (Radio) Medical Service and how to administer pain relief and medication to a patient.

Upon completion of the training, you will be able to apply safe, effective and immediate life-saving and enhanced first aid measures to save lives and provide assistance in remote areas using advanced emergency equipment and medical teleconsultation.

The training has been drawn up according to the guidelines of the Global Wind Organization (GWO) .

The following topics are discussed in accordance with the GWO guidelines:

  • Use of automatic external defibrillator (AED)
  • First aid in life-threatening situations
  • Symptoms of major and minor injuries and diseases (anatomy)
  • Anatomy
  • Managing a medical incident – Emergency assistance – contact with medical service
  • Pain relief and medication
  • Scenario-based training

Admission requirements

There are no prior education requirements for this training.

Certificate

After successfully completing this training, you will receive an official GWO certificate for both the Enhanced First Aid and the First Aid. You will also be registered in WINDA. WINDA is the online database for GWO training.

This certificate and the WINDA registration are valid for 2 years and must be repeated every two years. You can repeat this by following the GWO refresher training.

As soon as you start following a GWO training, you must create a WINDA account. Don’t have this yet? Don’t worry, you can do that via this link . In this database you will find all obtained GWO certificates.
