It aims to raise awareness of the various security threats and how seafarers can maintain safety on board a ship. The following is discussed in accordance with STCW table A-VI/6:

  • Knowledge of the Ship Security Plan, procedures and precautions;
  • Observing and recognizing safety risks;
  • Observing and recognizing the characteristics and behavioral patterns of people who could threaten safety
  • Techniques used to circumvent security measures
