GWO Manual Handling

The GWO Manual Handling course is intended for personnel working in the wind industry where physical work is performed. In this training, techniques are taught for manual handling with the aim of limiting risks, preventing incapacity for work and thus contributing to a safer working environment in wind turbines based on guidelines from the Global Wind Organization .

About this course

Inhoud

During the training you will learn to lift in a correct and technically responsible manner. In addition, insight is gained into methods to move objects correctly.

The following topics are covered in accordance with the GWO guidelines, among others:

  • Personal safety
  • Practice lifting and moving heavy loads
  • Discuss practical situations and cases
  • Prevent injuries
  • Risk mitigation lifting techniques

Additional options

The Manual Handling is one of the five modules of the Basic Safety Training developed by the Global Wind Organization (GWO).

The full package teaches participants everything to be able to work safely in the wind industry and consists of the separate modules in addition to the GWO Manual Handling:

The modules can also be followed in combination in the GWO Basic Safety Training.

Certificate

After successful completion of this training you will receive an official GWO Manual Handling certificate. You will also be registered in WINDA. WINDA is the online database for GWO training courses.

This certificate as well as the WINDA registration has a validity of 2 years and must be repeated every two years. You can repeat this by following the GWO refresher training.

As soon as you are going to follow a GWO training, you need to create a Winda account. Don’t have these yet? Don’t worry, you can do that via this link . In this database you will find all obtained GWO certificates.
