It’s crucial for crew members aboard ships to be capable of providing medical first aid to their colleagues. The international STCW treaty mandates specific legal requirements for this purpose. For instance, every ship’s officer must hold a valid certificate.
This combined training focuses on ship healthcare, equipping you to respond promptly and effectively in the event of accidents and illnesses onboard when external medical support is unavailable. It encompasses both basic medical first aid and more advanced medical procedures.
All components are thoroughly covered as specified in STCW tables A-VI/4-1 (Medical First Aid) and 4-2 (Medical Care).
With the hybrid STCW training(s) you follow the theory online in your own time and pace anywhere in the world from your PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone. You will then follow the practice in just 3 days at our training center. This will save you 2 days!

To participate in this training you must have a valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate (<5 years old).
Do you already have a valid STCW Medical First Aid certificate and would you also like to obtain the STCW Medical Care certificate? In that case, it is not necessary to follow the combination training. You can then choose to only follow the STCW Medical Care training.
Conversely, do you sail exclusively within the Dutch territorial sea or a territorial sea bordering this zone? Then you can choose to only follow the STCW Medical First Aid training.
After successfully completing this training, you will receive an official (ILenT/Shipping approved) STCW Medical First Aid & Medical Care certificate. These certificates have a validity of 5 years and comply with the STCW ’78 guidelines including 2010 Manila amendments.
