If you are a captain or an officer aboard a Dutch vessel operating within a restricted sailing area, it is mandatory for you to hold a valid STCW Medical First Aid certificate.

Our one-day Hybrid STCW Medical First Aid course is designed to equip you with the necessary skills to effectively respond to medical emergencies and administer essential first aid. The training covers vital procedures, including CPR and helicopter evacuation techniques.

What does “hybrid training” mean?

Our hybrid STCW training courses allow you to complete the theoretical components online at your own pace and convenience, from anywhere in the world, using a PC, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Subsequently, you will complete the practical training in just one day at our training center, saving you a whole day!

Admission requirements

To participate in this training, you must have a valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate (<5 years old) or a certificate from a previously completed Ship Health Care (B/O) training course(s) or comparable certificate.

Certificate

After successful completion of this training you will receive an official STCW certificate. This certificate is valid for 5 years and complies with the STCW’78 guidelines including the 2010 Manila amendments.

Are you following the hybrid training with us? The certificate is exactly the same certificate that you would receive from us if you follow the fully classroom training with us. You are therefore certified according to the same STCW regulations.

What is the Hybrid STCW Medical First Aid Course?

The Hybrid STCW Medical First Aid course provides participants with the skills and knowledge to provide first aid in medical emergencies on a ship, including basic medical procedures such as CPR.

Who is this STCW training intended for?

The STCW Medical First aid training is mandatory for all employees responsible for providing first aid on board, within the borders of the Dutch territorial sea and/or sea adjacent to the zone of the Dutch territorial sea.

What is the cost of the Hybrid STCW Medical First Aid training from ECMT?

This training costs €560 and can be booked directly online at ECMT.

How long does the course last?

The hybrid STCW training consists of an online theory part that can be followed at your own time and pace and a practical part that is completed in 1 day at our training center.

How long is the ECMT's STCW Medical First Aid certificate valid for?

This specific certificate is valid for 5 years and has been approved by ILenT/Shipping, which complies with the STCW ’78 guidelines, including the 2010 Manila amendments.

What does the Hybrid STCW Medical First Aid certificate comply with?
